Last month, Slow Pulp announced details of a new studio album, Yard, and shared its fuzzy, loved-up lead single "Slugs." Today the indie rock band returns with another taster of the upcoming record. "Doubt" is a tender and melodic song with a laidback vibe that masks its dark center. “In my process to fight against self-deprecation, I found this strange new pattern popping up where I fished for critiques from others,” lead singer Emily Massey says of the song in a statement. “I wanted people close to me to validate the things I hated about myself.
Self-doubt had found a home in me, it felt safer to stay in this familiar negative space than to like myself.
