AC/DC have announced dates for the North American leg of their ‘Power Up’ world tour – see the full list below.The stadium shows will be the legendary rock band’s first shows on the road in the US in nine years, and will kick off in Minneapolis’ US Bank Stadium on April 10.The 13 dates will see AC/DC cross the continent over a a six-week period, and will conclude in Cleveland’s Huntington Bank Field on May 28. Blur are set to receive the O2 Silver Clef Award at the annual charity gala ceremony this year.Per Music News, the Britpop legends will be honoured on July 5 with the event’s biggest prize, alongside the other newly-announced prize winners of the night in AC/DC, Chaka Khan, Loyle Carner, Mark Knopfler, Young Fathers and Jacob Collier.With this award, Blur joins a league of past awardees that includes David Bowie, Oasis, Paul McCartney and Kylie Minogue.“Making music with my brothers in Blur has been one of the great gifts of my life,” said bassist Alex James in a statement.“We are absolutely chuffed to receive the O2 Silver Clef Award and help raise awareness for [music therapy charity] Nordoff and Robbins, a brilliant organisation.” Last year’s recipient of the O2 Silver Clef was Stormzy.In a statement, AC/DC expressed that they’re “over the moon” to receive the Amazon Music Legend Award for their lengthy run as a recording artist and live touring act.“As a band, we’ve been dishing out our own brand of music therapy for the past five decades,” said vocalist Brian Johnson, “so to hear all about how Nordoff and Robbins helps the young and the old with the power of music is something that we understand and salute.

AC/DC have shared a photo of their new line-up ahead of their first tour in eight years.The current incarnation of the legendary Australian rock band features classic members Brian Johnson (vocals) and Angus Young on vocals and lead guitar respectively alongside rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney.Stevie Young is the nephew of Angus and has been playing with the band for several years, initially filling in for Malcolm Young when he was diagnosed with dementia. After he passed away in 2017, Stevie remained with the band.Laug, meanwhile, made his debut with AC/DC at Power Trip festival in Indio, California back in October after classic drummer Phil Rudd revealed he would not be performing at what was the band’s first live show in seven years.Chaney is best known for his time playing in Jane’s Addiction and recently replaced Cliff Williams after he retired from touring.Johnson is returning to the fold after leaving the band in 2016 due to hearing issues, which saw him replaced by Axl Rose.A post shared by AC/DC (@acdc)The ‘Power Up‘ tour – in support of their 2020 album of the same name – will kick off in the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany on May 17, followed by dates in Spain, Austria, Switzerland and more.The run also includes two dates at London’s Wembley Stadium on July 3 and 7, before they continue on to more mainland Europe dates.

Jet‘s Nic Cester has revealed that he had auditioned to be in AC/DC before they hired Guns N’ Roses‘ Axl Rose.The Jet frontman – known for their hits such as ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl’ and ‘Cold Hard Bitch’ – opened up about the opportunity to possibly take on frontman duties for the legendary Australian rock band.While appearing as a guest on Australian radio station Triple J, Cester shared that he received a call to audition for AC/DC after singer Brian Johnson had to step away from the band due to hearing issues.“I was staying with my in-laws and I got up in the morning and read the paper and it said that Brian Johnson was not in the band anymore,” Cester told Triple J.He continued: “I remember saying to my father-in-law, ‘Holy shit, you would not want to step into those shoes,’ and literally 20 minutes later my phone rang and they’re saying, ‘Would you be interested in going to Atlanta, Georgia to audition and potentially fill in for this next round of dates that we’ve got?’”The singer went on to add that he was thinking of saying yes “just for the life experience,” explaining that he wasn’t really expecting to get the gig anyway but thought: “‘How could I turn this opportunity down?’”Cester is no stranger to performing AC/DC tracks.
