LCD Soundsystem and Loyle Carner set to headline.The two-day event is due to take place at Clifton Downs in Bristol on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, September 1.Taking to the stage on the first date will be Four Tet, Maribou State, Floating Points, Romy, Greentea Peng, Yussef Dayes, Nubya Garcia, Hak Baker, MRCY and Jersey ahead of a bill-topping performance from Carner.The following day will feature sets from Jessie Ware, Yard Act, Baxter Dury, CMAT, Crazy P, Holysseus Fly, and Da Fuchaman & The Fire Blaze Band before LCD Soundsystem’s closing slot.LCD’s appearance at the festival will mark the band’s first Bristol performance in 14 years. Ezra Collective have won the 2023 Mercury Prize for their album ‘Where I’m Meant To Be’.The jazz collective were outsiders to clinch the prize going into tonight’s (September 7) ceremony beating off favourites Jockstap, Loyle Carner and Young Fathers at London’s Eventim Apollo.Jamz Supernova presented the collective with the prize and they were greeted with red confetti as they reached the stage.Accepting the trophy, Femi Koleoso, said: “Wow first of all let me thank God because if a jazz band winning the Mercury Prize doesn’t make you believe in God I don’t know what will.”He went on to thank the band’s manager and his mum and dad before adding: “Ezra Collective represents something very special because we met in a youth club. What we’re celebrating right is testimony to good special people, for putting in effort for young people to play music.“This is not just a result for Ezra Collective, for UK jazz but it’s a special moment for every organisation across the country ploughing their efforts and time into young people that play music.”The collective earlier played their track ‘Victory Dance’ and got up to perform the track for a second time after after accepting the award.All of the artists performed live on the night apart from Fred Again..

Glastonbury Festival 2023 have revealed the line-up for the West Holts Stage at this year’s event – see it in full below.As has become customary for the legendary event, after the full line-up drops they then announce new names stage-by-stage.In 2023, the West Holts Stage will be headlined by Kelis, Loyle Carner and Rudimental, all of whom were previously announced for the festival. Loyle Carner has announced his third album is on its way, sharing a release date and tracklist for the forthcoming ‘Hugo’.The English-Guyanese rapper shared the news yesterday (August 19) with a teaser video, in which he spraypaints the release date — October 21, 2022 — on a ‘Hugo’ poster.The ten-track record will feature his recently released singles ‘Hate’ and ‘Georgetown’, the latter of which was produced by Madlib and samples a performance by the Guyanese poet John Agard of his acclaimed poem Half-caste. “John Agard’s poem Half-caste had a heavy impact on me,” Carner said in a press statement. “To see someone who was older, that looked like me, sharing a reflection of a similar lived experience made me feel comfortable/proud to not fit in.
