Paisley flat after a troubled man barricaded himself inside and started chucking items through windows.William Coughtrie, 23, tossed a microwave oven, a number of guitars, a computer, a monitor, a plant pot and a chunk of glass into the road during a tense stand-off with the emergency services, which included police negotiators, firefighters and paramedics.Paisley Sheriff Court heard Coughtrie, who suffers from a number of health problems, waved a hammer and shouted abuse at officers during the rampage which took place at a house in Blythswood Drive on June 29.Procurator Fiscal Depute Sobia Kidd told the court the accused also drank cleaning fluid and made threats of self-harm as well, before the authorities were able to resolve the fraught.
