Ryanair steward arrested after he's filmed 'downing Jack Daniels during flight'
dailystar.co.ukRyanair steward allegedly filmed downing booze on a flight has been sacked and arrested after failing a breath test.Sam Thompson, 26, is accused of downing a miniature bottle of wine and a shot of Jack Daniels from an onboard drinks trolley.
The air steward reportedly necked booze with a passenger at the rear of the jet and made a rude gesture to the camera before being arrested on landing, it has been reported.A passenger who asked the crew for a drink said he was left shocked when Thompson began to drink booze with him.
Talking to The Sun, he said: “I don’t know what he was thinking. “I asked for a drink and when he came over he said to me, ‘Shush, don’t tell anyone but I will have one, too’.“Then he started necking a shot of whiskey.
He also had a 187ml bottle of rosé.“He sounded drunk and looked like he had been drinking for longer than just on the flight. “I asked to speak to the captain and he was furious.”In footage that has now been handed to the police, the uniformed steward can be seen sitting near the exit door as he slyly drinks rosé.Another clip of Thompson appears to show him knock back a shot of whiskey while facing away from the camera.The shot makes the air steward gag as he hastily says "don't make it obvious".Ryanair crew are not allowed to drink alcohol up to eight hours before a flight.
