Ukraine to detain - or kill - a target list of Ukrainian officials. New pictures show the squad allegedly stalking through the Ukrainian forest looking for their specific political targets.

The Chechens are believed to be from the South battalion of the Federal Guard Service, based in Chechnya and have been pictured practising drills and praying in the leafy forests.

Along with their arsenal of heavy-duty weaponry, each soldier has reportedly been given a list of targets to find. A Moscow Telegram channel with links to the security establishment reports that "a special ‘deck of cards’ was given to each Chechen special forces’ soldier currently participating in the operation in Ukraine".These cards, it is claimed, contain "photos and descriptions of people subject to immediate detention".These are officials and security officers who have been identified by the Russian Investigative Committee as suspected of “crimes”, said the report.Comments say this is an “order to kill” if those on the wanted list cannot be detained. The startling news comes after Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said he and his family are targets "number one and two" for Russian hit squads and that Putin wants "to destroy Ukraine politically by destroying the head of state".President Zelenskyy was addressing his people from the relative safety of a secret bunker on day two of a conflict that has tragically claimed the lives of 137 Ukrainians so far. "My family is not a traitor, but a citizen of Ukraine,' he said, adding that he would not reveal their location. "According to our information, the enemy marked me as the number one target.
