Mauro Morandi liked the uninhabited and remote place so much he decided to become a hermit and live there.He made his home in an abandoned World War Two stone hut, had few clothes, slept on a cot and his only companions were birds and cats.
His time was spent in silence and solitude, meditating and wandering the beautiful island, occasionally talking to visiting friends bringing supplies, the occasional tourist and looking after the place he called home.But now, more than three decades later, he is back in civilisation and loving it, CNN reports.
