Rail strikes to hit Lanarkshire services over two weekends

Lanarkshire rail passengers are again being warned to expect “significant disruption” as industrial action halts the majority of train services in the area over the next two weekends.Network Rail staff who are members of the RMT union are staging two 24-hour strikes on Saturdays October 1 and 8, meaning only 11 routes across Scotland will operate on those dates.There will be a maximum of two trains per hour on the seven routes in Lanarkshire which will run on the strike days, with the last departures “well before” 6.30pm – and customers are being told that they “should only travel if they really need to and consider alternative options where possible”.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
