Prince William made 'secret visit' to MI6 hours before Russia launched attack on Ukraine

Duke of Cambridge reportedly made a top secret visit to MI6 just hours before Vladimir Putin's government launched a a "full scale" invasion of Ukraine.Prince William privately visited the top secret department, which deals with foreign intelligence, in London on Wednesday morning, PA reports.

The visit to MI6 by the Duke of Cambridge was not publicised and only appeared when documents detailing the visit were made available through the Court Circular.It came just hours before Russia began rolling tanks over the border into Ukraine in an all-out attack after months of tensions.

In 2019, Prince William spent three weeks working with MI5, the Secret Intelligence Service MI6 and GCHQ to learn more about the UK's security.Working alongside the three departments, he also learned of how the UK's security and intelligence agencies worked.At the time, the Duke of Cambridge said: "Spending time inside our security and intelligence agencies, understanding more about the vital contribution they make to our national security, was a truly humbling experience."These agencies are full of people from everyday backgrounds doing the most extraordinary work to keep us safe."It is not known who the Duke met with during his time at MI6.One potential meeting could have been with Head of MI6, Richard Moore, although there are no confirmed reports to suggest the head, known in Whitehall as C, and the Duke of Cambridge met.

In November last year, Daily Star reported that the head of MI6 had warned that China and Russia would soon gain "leverage" with AI.
