Princess Kate loves to indulge in a spot of retail therapy from time to time. But one relatable blunder while out shopping saw Kate let slip a secret name she would sometimes go by.

Like many of us, it appears that the Princess of Wales also enjoys a bit of retail therapy from time to time. However, during one shopping trip, Kate accidentally revealed a secret alias she occasionally uses. This incident occurred shortly after her wedding to Prince William in 2011, during the early days of their marriage when they resided in Wales where William was stationed as a search and rescue pilot at RAF Valley.The royal couple lived in a rented farmhouse near the seaside town of Rhosneigr in Anglesey, as neither of them were full-time working royals at the time.

It was during a shopping trip that Kate used the name, after she reportedly forgot her purse after trying to hire a wetsuit.The shopkeeper at the watersports store, Dave Buckland, didn’t know who Kate was at the time and so asked if he could take a name so she could pick up the wetsuit later on. The name she gave him was ‘Mrs Cambridge’ - in reference to her other title the Duchess of Cambridge.

The Cambridge family have a set of 'code names' they use for one another, with Kate Middleton and Prince George both previously giving theirs away accidentally. Prince William, 39, and Kate, 40, are believed to both have fake names that they use will out and about, and it appears they've also given Prince George, eight, Princess Charlotte, six, and Prince Louis, three, their own fake aliases too. The Duchess of Cambridge once gave away one of her secret names during a shopping trip in Wales, when she and Prince William were residing in the country after getting married.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to visit Wales today to mark St David's Day - and it's a place which holds lots of special memories for the couple.
