Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have announced details of a new live album, created from their three performances at the Sydney Opera House last year.Titled ‘Australian Carnage’, the collection features audio taken from the pair’s performances in the Australian city, held as part of their 16-stop tour in the country at the end of 2022. The tour celebrated the release of the 2021 lockdown album, ‘Carnage’, which saw Cave and longtime Bad Seeds member Ellis come together for a new introspective side project.The live album will be released in two different formats: an 18-track digital version, which will be released this Friday (August 25), and an eight-track vinyl edition, which will arrive on December 1 via Goliath – pre-order here.To celebrate the announcement, Cave and Ellis have also shared the live version of ‘Balcony Man’, taken from the forthcoming album.

Nick Cave has responded to a question about the trans members of his fanbase, saying he loves “all my fans”.In an entry on his Red Hand Files website, Cave was asked by a fan: “How do you feel about your transgender fans or trans people in general? As a young trans woman, I’ve had equally positive and negative gender-related experiences with other fans of your work and stand curious as to where you stand on things.”After discussing another question in the entry about his Enneagram (personality test) type, Cave said that he believes he has “a weird paternal instinct toward my audience, gone berserk.”Turning his attention towards the trans fan, he then added: “I also have another impulse, which I hope is more common, and that is to treat everyone with equal love and respect, regardless of their race, gender, sexuality, religion or anything else. I essentially see the world as a collection of individuals, each unique in their brokenness, who have at their core a common and binding sameness of spirit.“So, Amelia, although I am slightly uncertain as to where I am supposed to stand on such things, or rather why I am supposed to stand anywhere, I will say this – I love my trans fans fully and wish them the best, as I love all my fans and wish them the best.

Ed Sheeran has shared his thoughts on the use of artificial intelligence in music, calling the technology “weird”.The ‘Subtract’ singer-songwriter spoke about AI during a recent interview with Audacy, which took place at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City.Towards the end of the conversation, Sheeran was asked whether he had seen any of the music-orientated AI projects that are becoming increasingly popular across social media.“What I don’t understand about AI is like, for the last 60 years, Hollywood movies have been telling you, ‘Don’t do it’. Kylie Minogue has spoken about her “love” of indie bands and said she’d most like to collaborate with The Killers.The singer, who has previously worked with the likes of Nick Cave and Manic Street Preachers, has said she would love to get into studio with the Las Vegas band.She told E! Online: “I’ve always loved more kind of indie bands, like The Killers. Most collaborations I’ve done have come to me so I haven’t had to make that decision.

Nick Cave has recalled being “high” while taking to the stage with Kylie Minogue on Top Of The Pops.The Bad Seeds frontman was speaking as part of The Louis Theroux Podcast recently when he discussed the making of his 1995 track ‘Where The Wild Roses Grow’ — which saw him join forces with the Australian pop star.Describing the message behind the song, he said: “It was a murder ballad that ends with the character killing his beloved… It was quite something at the time for Kylie to take on.”“I certainly wasn’t in showroom condition,” he continued. “Her management were like ‘This is a bad idea’ because we were a bunch of dark drug-addicted monstrosities… but she was determined to do that.”The 65-year-old songwriter then told the host that he struggles to “remember much” about his time performing the song with Minogue on Top Of The Pops, although the two did remain close after the appearance.“We have stayed very good friends,” he explained.

Chvrches have paid tribute to the “world’s greatest goth” – The Cure’s Robert Smith during their set at Glastonbury Festival today (June 23).Performing on the Other Stage, the band paid tribute to Smith before performing ‘How Not To Drown‘, which they released together in 2021.After a performance by lead singer Lauren Mayberry, the band said of Smith: “Wherever you are, that one was for fucking Robert Smith.”They went on to call him “the legend, the world’s greatest goth,” before joking, “Susie [Cave] might have something to say about that,” in reference to Nick Cave. Mayberry then joked “don’t ignite old feuds”.Elsewhere in the set, Mayberry was forced to handle a wardrobe malfunction.

Nick Cave has recently revealed that two of his books are currently in the works to become TV series or movies.Speaking to NME as part of a recent “good faith conversation”, Cave shared that the adaptation of his book, The Death Of Bunny Munro, into a TV series was “chugging along”. The adaptation was mooted over a decade ago with the Black Seeds frontman stating he originally wrote the story as a screenplay, but had it published as a novel after it failed to move forward.The Death Of Bunny Munro is a dark and humorous book centred around the life of a sex-addicted cosmetics salesman after his wife commits suicide.Cave had previously mentioned that Actor Ray Winstone was “dying” to play the part of Bunny telling Empire more than a decade ago that: “[Winstone] really loved the script when we first handed it to him.

Nick Cave has spoken about what to expect from the next Bad Seeds album, and if there’s a chance of more music from Grinderman any time soon.Earlier this year, the Australian musician was criticised by a fan for losing the anger that was present in much of his earlier work.In a post on his blog The Red Hand Files, Cave shared a note from the fan who asked: “When did you become a Hallmark card hippie? Joy, love, peace. Puke! Where’s the rage, anger, hatred?”In response, Cave said the death of his son Arthur was behind the shift in his energy. “Things changed after my first son died,” he wrote.

Nick Cave has discussed his decision to attend King Charles’ coronation this month after being criticised for the choice.Addressing the invitation on his blog The Red Hand Files ahead of the coronation, Cave responded to fans who appeared confused at his decision to attend, with one writing: “What would the young Nick Cave have thought of that?!”After defending the decision, Cave has now spoken to NME about the response to his decision, and that fans have disowned him because of it.“I don’t want to get into this at all, but I just had a guy write into the Red Hand Files,” Cave began. “He said, ‘I’m a longtime fan, I love your work, and it gives me great sadness to pack it all up in a box and take it down to the secondhand shop because I can no longer listen to you because you went to the coronation.”He added: “It just feels to me that the wrongs get less and less and less.

Actress Emma, 64, led the star-studded arrivals in London on Saturday, and was joined by the likes of Ant and Dec, Edward Enninful, Nick Cave and Stephen Fry at the historic event. Royal fans were surprised to see certain stars at the the King's Coronation, especially US pop star Katy, 38, who is set to take to the stage on Sunday at the Coronation Concert.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly struggled to contain their laughter on Saturday as they attended King Charles' Westminster Abbey Coronation.The Geordie presenting duo, who were amongst the high-profile variety of guests, could be seen stifling fits of laughter inside the church while the new monarch was officially crowned. Broadcasting live on BBC One, the camera panned to the presenters as Ant looked away from his pal and held back a smile, while Dec appeared to be gritting his teeth to remain composed.
