Joy, love, peace. Puke! Where’s the rage, anger, hatred?”In response, Cave said the death of his son Arthur was behind the shift in his energy. “Things changed after my first son died,” he wrote.

Nick Cave has announced an audiobook to accompany his new memoir Faith, Hope And Carnage, which he also narrates.The artist’s upcoming work is based on 40 hours of interviews between Cave and his friend, the Observer journalist Seán O’Hagan, and is released on September 20. They will be joined by musician Johnny Hostile and backing singers Wendi Rose, T Jae Cole and Janet Ramus.Now, Cave an Ellis have added two extra shows in Scotland: first at Music Hall Aberdeen on September 19 and then at Theatre Royal Glasgow on October 4.Tickets for gigs will be on sale from 10 am on August 25 here.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have recorded a soundtrack for Andrew Dominik’s forthcoming Blonde film about the late Marilyn Monroe.That’s according to The Guardian which also reports that Cave and Ellis will perform songs from albums including ‘Carnage‘ and ‘Ghosteen‘ for a new music film by Dominik.Cave and Ellis previously worked with the director and screenwriter on his 2016 documentary One More Time With Feeling, which chronicles the recording of Cave’s ‘Skeleton Tree’ in the aftermath of his son Arthur’s death.Speaking about working with Ellis, Cave told The Guardian: “It’s an incredible privilege to work with Warren. In any situation, he wants the best for me and I want the best for him.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have announced a new seven-inch release titled ‘Grief’, based on a letter sent to Cave’s Red Hand Files website.The release contains two songs, ‘Letter To Cynthia’ and ‘Song For Cynthia’. The former was written by Cave with music by Ellis, and the latter was composed and recorded as a duo.The music, available for purchase here, is inspired by a question a fan called Cynthia sent to The Red Hand Files, where Cave responds to letters from his audience.“I have experienced the death of my father, my sister, and my first love in the past few years and feel that I have some communication with them, mostly through dreams,” she wrote in October 2018.
