The archive contains items including handwritten notebooks, letters, costumes, instruments, awards, fashion, photography, film, music videos, set designs and more — many of which were exhibited during the “David Bowie Is” traveling museum exhibit that was viewed by more than 2 million people between 2013 and 2018. According to the announcement, “It also includes more intimate writings, thought processes and unrealised projects, the majority of which have never been seen in public before.” The items are set to go on display in 2025 at The David Bowie Centre for the Study of Performing Arts in Stratford, which was also unveiled today.

Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy has been announced to lead the next David Bowie tribute tour with guitarist Adrian Belew – see dates and ticket information below.Murphy will front the 2023 ‘Celebrating David Bowie’ tour in North America alongside celebrated guitarist Adrian Belew, who’s best known as formerly playing in King Crimson.Spacehog’s Royston Langdon, A Perfect Circle bassist Matt McJunkins, guitarist Scrote, Devo/A Perfect Circle drummer Jeff Friedl, saxophonist Ron Dziubla, and guitarist Eric Schermerhorn will also play in the touring group.The tribute tour kicks off on April 4 in Houston, Texas, US and wraps up on May 8 in Tacoma, Washington, US. Speculation about potential Oscar-campaigning irregularities in the wake of this week’s nominations reveal has led the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences put out a statement today saying it is “conducting a review of the campaign procedures around this year’s nominees.”

The exec who has served as SVP of Digital Strategy, Marketing and Distribution for Neon since 2017 will also continue to serve as Co-President of Decal — the home entertainment distribution company launched by Neon and Bleecker Street last year.

The James Brown estate and Primary Wave have been sued by an entity called The Pullman Group over the big deal that was announced last year around the late musician’s song rights, recording royalties and brand.Primary Wave announced its deal with the Brown estate last December. It saw the music rights firm acquire a stake in the James Brown songs catalogue, as well as securing involvement in the musician’s recording royalties, plus Brown’s name and likeness rights.
