PEAKY Blinders fans have called out a plot hole with the chain-smoking Shelbys’ cigarettes. Cillian Murphy's character Tommy Shelby is rarely seen without a cigarette hanging out of his mouth in the hit BBC drama, and the same goes for many of his family members.

However, fans have spotted a major issue with the type of cigarettes they all smoke, with one writing on a forum for blunders and and plot holes: "Filter cigarettes weren't conceived until 1925 and not in common use until decades later. “No self-respecting gangster would have smoked them.” Another fan also took issue with the plot hole on Reddit, writing: “Anyone notice that everyone seems to be smoking filtered cigarettes, even though the show is set before they were invented?.
