Paramedic 'terrified' over numbers of critically-ill casualties in Arena bombing, public inquiry told

Joanne Hedges, a North West Ambulance Service senior paramedic, arrived at Manchester Victoria station shortly after 11.10pm - around 40 minutes after the blast.

She was told to 'go in and just start treating and triaging patients' as a triage officer, the public inquiry into the bombing was told..

Ms Hedges said at that point she was told of 'up to 60 casualties' and that the ambulance service wasn't '100 per cent sure' the blast zone in the City Room was 'safe'.
