A paedophile who police say wore soiled girl's knickers in the public toilets opposite his ice cream van is fighting a police force bid to stop him selling ice cream.
Police are bidding to ban convicted paedophile Paul Neary from operating his ice cream van after they say they found he had laid out children's underwear on sand dunes and took photos of Barbie dolls mimicking sex acts on him in his home.
Neither of these things are illegal and the local council is powerless to stop him as ice cream vendors are not regulated by local authorities or the Home Office's Disclosure and Barring Service.
Liverpool Crown Court heard Neary had been convicted of possessing indecent images of children in August 2016, Liverpool Echo reports.
