A woman has vowed to save Christmas for struggling families in her community. Joanna Wallis, from Grimsby, has set up Christmas for the Community on Facebook, accepting donations of toys, books and clothes for families in North East Lincolnshire who might otherwise go without gifts this festive season.

Her plan is to wrap them and donate the presents to people in Grimsby and Cleethorpes, the Grimsby Telegraph reports. Joanna has received more than 1,000 “amazing” donations from community members and businesses so far – and hopes to get even more in the run up to Christmas.
