Meghan Markle has confessed to altering her wardrobe during her visit to Nigeria with Prince Harry in an effort to "fit in".The Duchess of Sussex briefly separated from Harry on Saturday to co-host a panel event centred around Women in Leadership.Meghan sported three different outfits that day, attending various events as part of the couple's unofficial "royal tour" of the African nation. However, it was a vibrant red dress that garnered the most attention which was her final outfit of the evening, the Mirror reports.Meghan's beautiful maxi dress, which was "ethically" designed by Nigerian designer Orire and cost less than £230, was reportedly a last-minute choice. While addressing the audience with her microphone, Meghan shared: "It has been a whirlwind 24 hours since we arrived, and I very quickly got the memo that I need to wear more colour so I can fit in with all of you in your incredible fashion." According to a genealogy test, Meghan recently found out she is 43 percent Nigerian.
After making this discovery, she excitedly phoned her mum, stating it was "exciting" for both of them. She had previously mentioned that being African-American means "really not knowing so much about your lineage or background, where you come from specifically".Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat
