The Wiz is returning to Broadway for the first time in 40 years later this month!

The Wiz is getting so close to premiering on Broadway, but first the national tour is playing in Los Angeles.

Brent Lang Executive Editor DECO Entertainment, founded by Lascelles Stephens and Deborah Cox, will join the co-producing team of the all-new revival of “The Wiz.” The production will launch a national tour on Sept. 23, 2023 in Baltimore before returning to Broadway for a limited engagement in the 2023 t0 2024 season.

The film, about a young indigenous woman’s struggle in the face of xenophobia, climate change and the patriarchy, will go into production in Sápmi next year and is set to premiere in 2024. “I am over the moon!” said Laestadius. “For me as an author it is of course a dream to see my book adapted into a film and reach a whole new audience across the world. And I’m incredibly happy that Netflix – with their reach – chooses to highlight a Sami story in a big way.”
