A first-time mum has spoken of her trauma after she and her newborn baby spent their first moments together just yards away from the bomb attack at Liverpool Women's Hospital.
Helen Edwards-Hughes was already "frightened beyond her wildest dreams" during her difficult labour with daughter Penelope when the hospital was suddenly targeted by a terrorist plot, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The 34-year-old extended her deep gratitude to the medical staff, whose "amazing" efforts helped her get through an unbelievably difficult 12 days with her baby girl in the aftermath of the horrendous event.
