Michael Stewart has slammed comments made by former Hearts manager Craig Levein as deflection from his ill-fated Tynecastle reign.
Levein left the club second-bottom on goal difference alone after a loss to St Johnstone cost him his job at the end of October - although he would stay on sharing sporting director duties with assistant Austin MacPhee.
The Jambos never recovered and look set to be relegated from the Scottish Premiership, barring any reconstruction proposals that would keep them up.
Levein left Hearts completely at the start of the month and the boss delivered his assessment of his third spell in Gorgie after serving the club for most of his playing career and returning as manager for the first time between 2000 and 2004.
