'Large fire' at storage facility sees 100 firefighters scramble to save building

fire at a storage facility has seen 100 firefighters rush to save a building in 'challenging conditions'.The blaze began at around 2am on Saturday morning (February 26) at Armadillo self-storage unit in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.

The building reportedly collapsed on one side as flames tore through the structure.Local residents were told to close their doors and windows as the fire raged on through the night.Crews from stations around Greater Manchester Fire Service have been deployed to the serious incident on the Stanley Green Omdistrial Estate, Cheadle and the situation is ongoing, according to Manchester Evening News.They tweeted at 3:38am: " Firefighters are also responding to a separate incident on Greek Street in Stockport."Eight fire engines are currently in attendance.

Crews are experiencing challenging conditions and extreme temperatures whilst trying to bring the blaze under control."The fire station uploaded a photograph of a uniformed fireman using a water hose on the open shutters of the facility.A second image depicted the commercial property glowing red from flames against the night sky as smoke rose upwards from the top of the building.Another picture shared by a user on social media displayed a view of the fire from Wilmslow 5 miles away, with a large smoke plume seen drifting to the left of the storage centre.In a separate incident on the same night, eight fire engines were deployed to.
