A large emergency services response was sparked after a fire broke out in a cottage with a thatched roof in Stockport. Multiple fire crews from Manchester and Cheshire were scrambled to the blaze on Bramhall Lane South at around 8.15pm last night (Tuesday).
The Hazardous Area Response Team from the North West Ambulance Service also attended the scene, as well police officers. Crews battled the blaze into the early hours and remain at the scene this afternoon. Firefighters are still dampening down remaining 'hotspots'.
Pictures taken last night on Bramhall Lane South showed smoke billowing from the thatched roof of the property as firefighters worked to put it out.
