A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with a 'severe head injury' after a crash in Trafford. Emergency services - including the air ambulance - rushed to the scene on Clay Lane, in Timperley near the border with Bowdon, after the smash this morning (Friday).
The crash involved a car and a motorbike and happened just after 8am. The rider, aged in his 20s, suffered a severe head injury, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service confirmed.

It has not yet been confirmed whether any arrests have been made. The road is currently shut near to Bowdon Rugby Club. According to Transport for Greater Manchester, it is closed in both directions between Dobbinetts Lane and Wellfield Lane.
