Man rushed to hospital as police close road after serious crash outside supermarket

A man was rushed to hospital after a serious crash outside a Tameside supermarket. Emergency services descended on Cavendish Street, in Ashton, near to Asda at around midnight on Sunday morning (April 3).

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all in attendance while officers closed off the road between Park Parade and King Street, at the border with Dukinfield.

North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) says a man in his 30s was taken to hospital following the collision, but the extent of his injuries are not known.

Fire crews from Ashton and Stalybridge were also sent out to the scene, with firefighters in attendance for around half an hour.
