Coronation Street fans were left stunned on Monday night as they made what has become a rare spot. For weeks viewers of the ITV soap have been questioning the Brown-Winter's as they became the centre of a poverty storyline.

Gemma and Chesney have been struggling to make ends meet with five children and themselves to feed, clothe and keep a roof over their heads.

Last week, the couple were distraught to learn that Joseph was being bullied at school because they can’t afford to buy him a new school jumper, as his has holes in, and new trainers. There was a £30,000 reward put up for his safe return home, all the while cousin Hope was helping him hide in their loft. Eventually, he returned back to No.5 with Bernie Winter's friend Clint Stubbins who pocketed the money which he ended up sharing with Bernie after she discovered he had only bumped into Joseph and Hope when they were back on the cobbles.
