The body of Peter Obi, 17, was recovered from Elton Reservoir in Bury on August 13. Coroner Matthew Cox opened an inquest into the college student's tragic death at Rochdale Coroners' Court this morning (Tuesday, August 24).
Police coroners' officer Tracy Bunn said friends tried to rescue Peter after he got into trouble while swimming in the water.
