Gladiators' Vogue married contender she fancied after co-star and security set them up

set to make a return to screens after 22 years away - has confessed how she had to enlist the help of a co-star and a security guard to ensure she hooked up with the man of her dreams.Vogue - aka Suzanne Cox - fell head over heels in more ways than one when she met Mark Roberts, one of the contestants in the 1990s ITV show.READ MORE: 90s boybands now - drugs controversy, tragic deaths and 15 kidsBut she was so overcome with shyness she had to rely on others to get her a date with the hunk.Thankfully it had a happy ending and the couple are this year celebrating 20 years of marriage and have two children.Now aged 50, Suzanne joined Gladiators in 1995 and was given the stage name Vogue.Speaking to The GladPod, a podcast all about Gladiators, Suzanne revealed how she got closer to one of the contestants than planned.She said she first spotted her now husband Mark Roberts, a gym instructor, in a Birmingham nightclub in 1997 as Gladiators and contenders enjoyed an evening out before filming the last series of the show."I thought Mark looked really nice but I had no idea who he was," she said. "Then when training started I was chatting to one of the cameramen and he told me what a nice guy Mark was."It was only later I realised he was the same man I'd seen in the nightclub."She said she then confided in fellow Gladiator Rebel and that's when Cupid swung into action."It was like being back at school with people telling Mark I fancied him.

Even the security guards got involved and brought Mark to my dressing room door - I was so embarrassed I wanted to die!", she said.“We were both totally embarrassed, people were trying to push us together.
