The funeral of one of Scotland's most notorious crime figures took place on Friday amid fears of gangland violence. Police stepped up patrols during the service for Andrew Gallacher - a senior figure within the Lyons crime gang.

Mourners packed into Glasgow Crematorium to say a final goodbye to Gallacher, who died suddenly inside his prison cell. The 43-year-old was serving 20 years for organised crime offences including the attempted murder of rival Steven "Bonzo" Daniel and four other men.Two inmates with ties to the Daniel crime clan were victims of blade attacks inside HMP Addiewell less than 24 hours before Gallacher's funeral.
