Tributes have been paid to a ‘gentle soul’ and much-loved woman who died after being hit by a car in east Manchester. Ibizugbe Ikponnmwen died following the collision involving a blue Mercedes G63 - or 'G-Wagon' - at the junction of Alan Turing Way and Ashton Old Road.

The 38-year-old was rushed to hospital following the crash on Monday (October 25) but she sadly died a short time later. Family members, who say Ibizugbe left a ‘remarkable legacy’ have now paid tribute.

Husband Bolaji Onifade, speaking on behalf of the Onifade family, said: “It’s with a very heavy heart that we’re announcing the sudden death of my wife, in a road collision, words cannot express how much I am going to miss you and the vacuum that has been created. “You will
