arrested during a Rangers fraud probe fell "victim" to a "blackmail" attempt using information which had allegedly been "hacked" from former boss Craig Whyte's emails.
Advocate Andrew Smith QC said on Friday that his client David Grier had been contacted by an "individual" who tried to obtain money from him.Mr Smith told judge Lord Tyre at the Court of Session that the bid took place after Mr Grier had been arrested by detectives investigating claims of wrongdoing at Rangers.He said that the blackmail attempt had been made using information which had been obtained from the so called 'Charlotte Fakes' email database.The cache - which is said to contain 100,000 emails - contains information from emails belonging to former Rangers boss Craig.
