After finding himself an unwilling major selling point of Rebel Wilson‘s memoir Rebel Rising, Sacha Baron Cohen is feeling a bit of vindication tonight. When the UK version of the book is published tomorrow, the chapter about him will be largely redacted, this after Baron Cohen’s attorneys threatened to sue Harper Collins over allegations his camp has maintained were provably false. She has been beating on Baron Cohen like he owed her money for the past month, alleging outrageous treatment by him toward her on the set of the 2016 film The Brothers Grimsby. Wilson has not relented in public comments, but it looks like the publisher wasn’t taking any chances.

Naman Ramachandran The U.K.’s Studio Crook has acquired the rights to develop “Damaged Goods,” the first of Helen Black’s “Lilly Valentine” legal book series, into a returning television drama series “Valentine” (6 x 60’). “Valentine” will follow Lilly Valentine, an almost divorced single mother on the wrong side of 40 who excels at her job at a local Oldham law firm. She will go to any length to help her clients, at the expense of both her son and her nearly ex-husband.

Arlo Parks' lyrics have always had a tactile and intimate nature with the London-born songwriter often claiming that her songs began life as poems. It is perhaps no surprise, then, to learn that she will release a poetry collection later this year. The Magic Border: Poetry and Fragments from My Soft Machine will be published on September 12 and arrives after Parks inked a book deal with Harper Collins.

He’s engaged to Ann Lesley Smith, a 66-year-old San Francisco police chaplain. According to gossip columnist Cindy Adams, who broke the story in the New York Post, Murdoch’s future wife was married to Chester Smith, a country-western singer, as well as a radio and TV executive who died in 2008. Adams reports that the two bonded over their shared knowledge of the media business as well as the fact that she once owned a vineyard and he still does. If they tie the knot, it will be Murdoch’s fifth marriage. Hall, a model and actress, was married to Murdoch for six years. In addition to Hall, Murdoch was previously married to Wendi Deng from 1999 to 2013; Anna Maria Torv from 1967 to 1999; and Patricia Booker, from 1956 to 1967.

Quentin Tarantino is prepping to embark on a book tour for his first nonfiction book “Cinema Speculation,” which releases on Nov. 1. The tour will see the filmmaker, cinephile and now podcaster make stops in five major U.S. cities from Nov. 3-16. Tarantino will kick off his promo jaunt in Los Angeles, then head to San Francisco, Portland and Austin before concluding at The Town Hall in New York City. In “Cinema Speculation,” the “Pulp Fiction” and “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” director finally does what fans have anticipated throughout his 30-year long career: write about and analyze the films that shaped him, from his early childhood to his adulthood. Yesterday was a good one for filmmaker Michael Mann. He began production in Italy on Ferrari, and learned that his first novel landed atop The New York Times Bestseller hardcover list. Heat 2 fleshes out the events before and after Mann’s 1995 crime classic Heat, and lands atop the NYT list in its first week in publication. Mann wrote his novel debut with co-writer Meg Gardiner in a book published through Mann’s William Morrow imprint. Heat 2 is the first book in a three book multi-million dollar deal between Michael Mann books and the Harper Collins division, In a Deadline feature on the book last week, Mann said that he plans to lean into continuing the crime story, which in the present focuses on the criminal exploits of Chris Shiherlis, played by Val Kilmer in the original film, and Detective Vincent Hanna, played by Al Pacino in the film. Mann hopes to adapt Heat 2 into a theatrical feature, after he completes Ferrari with Adam Driver, Penelope Cruz and Shailene Woodley starring.

Queen Elizabeth is said to have given her blessing to royal dresser Angela Kelly to give a rare insight into the monarch after 70 years on the throne. Angela has been a royal aide to Her Majesty for almost 30 years, and is expected to release her book next month – which will be an update of her 2019 book The Other Side of the Coin – ahead of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Bigelow, who became the first woman to win a directing Oscar in 2010 for “The Hurt Locker,” will direct “Aurora,” based on David Koepp’s upcoming thriller novel of the same name, for the streamer.Koepp will also write the film’s screenplay, which will join his long list of credits including “Mission: Impossible” and “Jurassic Park.” The novel “Aurora” is set to be released on June 7 by Harper Collins.Per Netflix’s announcement of the project on Twitter, the film “follows characters who are coping with the collapse of the social order, set against a catastrophic worldwide power crisis.” The novel’s blurb sets the story in Aurora, Illinois, where Aubrey Wheeler and her teenage son are forced to fend for themselves in the wake of a massive power outage.
