direct to your inboxDerbyshire Police has apologised and scrapped £200 fines handed out to two women who drove five miles for a walk.The force admitted officers got it wrong when they accused friends Jessica Allen and Eliza Moore, both 27, of breaching coronavirus legislation.The pair travelled from their homes Ashby-de-la-Zouch, in Leicestershire, to meet for a socially distanced walk at Foremark Reservoir in Derbyshire last week.They believed the ten-minute car journey was permitted under the exception that allows people to exercise once a day with one other person from outside their household.

But the women told how they were 'surrounded' by officers as soon as they parked up at the beauty spot.Officers read them their rights and said.
