Premier League clubs will not be forced to reduce the number of foreign stars within their ranks post-Brexit. The UK has officially left the European Union but remains in a transition period until the end of December this year.
Terms of the relationship are still being thrashed out, but one of the key elements is regarding immigration. There were concerns that abolishing the free movement of people could lead to restrictions on the amount of foreign players allowed in each team.
Current rules demand each club has at least eight homegrown players in their registered 25-man squad list, with suggestions that figure could rise to 12.
