Crawley Town manager John Yems was filmed calling the police after being asked about racial segregation allegations by a reporter. The Reds gaffer, 62, is currently suspended for allegations he used discriminatory language towards his players.

And further developments have now seen Yems accused of separating individuals into different dressing rooms based on the colour of their skin. When confronted on the new allegations by Sky News, the London-born boss refused to answer.

Instead, Yems opted to call the police. The Crawley Town boss was placed under indefinite suspension in April after the League Two club received "serious and credible accusations" he used discriminatory language towards playing staff.

The players themselves are then reported to have raised issues over Yems' conduct to the Professional Footballers' Association before they were then passed onto the Football Association - with whom he remains under investigation. The FA's disciplinary department is weighing up whether to charge Yems in relation to a breach of rule E3, which prohibits discrimination against another individual's 'protected characteristics' such as race or religion. In a statement, the club said: "Crawley Town Football Club was made aware of serious and credible accusations that first team manager John Yems used discriminatory language and behaviour toward our players."We take these allegations seriously and, effective immediately, have suspended him indefinitely as we investigate and consider further punitive action.
