Brad Pitt to drive at British Grand Prix for upcoming Formula One movie
Brad Pitt is set to drive at the British Grand Prix as part of production for his upcoming Formula One movie.During a panel at the F1 Accelerate Summit in Miami, director Joseph Kosinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared details about the upcoming Apple Studios film. The currently untitled project stars Pitt as a driver who comes out of retirement to team up with a rookie and take on the titans of the sport.Seven-time Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton is on board as a producer and will also be advising on the storyline and script, “to ensure is the most accurate racing film ever made”.Kosinski and Bruckheimer revealed that they are “creating an 11th team filming on track and on event from Silverstone to the end of the year.” This year, the British Grand Prix will take place at Silverstone on July 9.The duo confirmed that the film’s stars will actually be driving the race cars themselves, with audiences being able to enter the cockpit thanks to “the smallest moveable 6k camera ever designed”.However, Variety has since confirmed that Pitt will not be racing against other drivers on the track, and the vehicle he drives will most likely be a modified version of a junior F2 or F3 car.Panel moderator Will Buxton shared that the car being used for the film was designed by Mercedes.During a Q&A in April (via Sports Illustrated), F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the film will be “quite invasive in terms of production. It’s something that we need to control, in a way, but it will be another way of showing that Formula 1 never stops.”British actor Damson Idris (Swarm) will star alongside Pitt.

Six iconic races that could be axed including Monaco and Spa as F1 look to expand calendar
Formula One's rampant expansion continues to bring the sport to the forefront of millions of fans around the globe and the goal is to continue in that vein, with more races and venues added to the calendar. The United States is a particular area of interest, with the nation set to host three Grands Prix next season with the addition of a night race in Las Vegas, while the Middle East is enjoying a surge of it's own - with Saudi Arabia and Qatar among the recent additions.A major issue, however, is the fact that the Concorde Agreement, which runs until 2025, limits the amount of races per season to 24 - and, should a replacement be found for the axed Russian Grand Prix in 2022, this season's calendar will have 23 races. With Las Vegas coming next season, Qatar joining as a permanent member and a return to Shanghai expected, as well as a rumoured return to South Africa, the numbers simply don't add up - which means that we could have to wave farewell to some of the venues we've come to adore.Remarkably, F1 chief Stefano Domenicali has made it clear that historic tracks are not untouchable - which raises the threat of losing some of the most illustrious and famous tracks from the sport - and it's Europe that seems most likely to suffer, as Daily Star Sport shown in our selection of the races that could be lost....MonacoThe prospect of a Formula 1 season without a trip to the French principality is staggering, as Monaco is widely regarded to be the most famous race on the calendar and is a staple of the calendar. However, the track doesn't quite fit the current focus of Formula 1, which is entertainment, as this century there has remarkably been an average of only 12 overtakes per race at Monaco - where the race can often
