Brendan Murphy, 79, who represents Disley near Stockport, was convicted of two charges of harassment at Stockport magistrates court on Friday, March 19, CheshireLive reports.
He had denied both counts , which were said to involve neighbours Margaret and Christopher Boyd. Speaking after the hearing, Coun Murphy said he is appealing the conviction.
One charge was that between November 23, 2017, and July 13, 2018, Cllr Murphy spoke over the fence to Mr and Mrs Boyd, calling them ‘peeping Tom and the tart’.
