Famed local street artist Akse-P19 has been working on the mural for two days, with the large artwork now almost finished. It's taking shape on the corner of Tib Street and Thomas Street, on the same wall where the much-loved Tony Wilson mural was once painted.
Captain Sir Tom Moore became something of a national treasure in the last 12 months, after walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday.
His efforts raised more than £30m for NHS Charities Together, despite setting off with a modest fundraising target of £1000.
