Conor McGregor's striking coach Owen Roddy has teased a potential UFC summer showdown with Justin Gaethje for the Notorious.

McGregor recently made his return to the octagon after 15 months out of action with a decisive 40 second TKO win over Donald Cerrone in January and the Irishman has made no secret of his desire to fight regularly.

He is ultimately targeting a rematch with fierce rival Khabib Nurmagomedov for the lightweight title but the Russian is currently scheduled to defend his belt against the dangerous Tony Ferguson at UFC 249.

That event was due to take place in New York but the ongoing coronavirus outbreak means the New York State Athletic Commission have refused to sanction the show.
