Khabib had been scheduled to face Tony Ferguson for the UFC Lightweight Championship however is stuck in Russia and Justin Gaethje will instead feature in the main event.
A bout between Ferguson and Khabib has been five years in the making but White is accepting the blame for it not going ahead this time around.
He told BT Sport: “There was a lot of questioning Khabib, people were saying ‘Oh he got trapped in Russia’ or whatever; what he said is absolutely true.
