UFC president Dana White has accepted blame for Khabib Nurmagomedov missing tonight’s UFC 249 in Jacksonville, Florida. Khabib had been scheduled to face Tony Ferguson for the UFC Lightweight Championship however is stuck in Russia and Justin Gaethje will instead feature in the main event.
A bout between Ferguson and Khabib has been five years in the making but White is accepting the blame for it not going ahead this time around.
He told BT Sport: “There was a lot of questioning Khabib, people were saying ‘Oh he got trapped in Russia’ or whatever; what he said is absolutely true.
