Justin Gaethje put in the performance of his career to beat Tony Ferguson and claim the interim UFC lightweight title. Gaethje started out as a slight underdog but dominated from start to finish and set up a super fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Ferguson came into the fight on a 12-match unbeaten run but was stopped late in the fight round in Florida on Saturday night.
In the co-main event, Henry Cejudo beat Dominick Cruz in the second round to retain his bantamweight title before retiring. The two-weight champion American claimed he had achieved all he had set out to do and wanted to take some time out to be with his family.
