Justin Gaethje managed his best performance of his career to beat Tony Ferguson to set up a blockbuster fight with either Conor McGregor or Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The 31-year-old dominated El Cucuy, who was the odds-on favourite for the night. Referee Herb Dean stopped the fight in the fifth round after some serious damage from The Highlight, that left his opponent pouring blood from his face.
Ferguson took a real beating and suffered a massive swelling on his left eye, blood gushing and legs in pieces. Gaethje had been on a three-match winning streak - all vicious first-round knockouts - and looked like he could have gone on for several more rounds.
