Bosses at the care home where Britain’s oldest coronavirus victim died say 26 staff members are self-isolating. Hilda Churchill, 108, died at Kenyon Lodge on Saturday (March 28), just hours after testing positive for Covid-19.

Currently, 14 staff are self isolating with symptoms, alongside 12 who are self-isolating with underlying medical conditions or because family members have symptoms.

Another resident also died at the home in the last week - though this was unrelated to coronavirus. Nobody else at the home has been tested for the virus.

The care home, in Little Hulton, Salford, is being monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after the regulatory body was contacted by a person with concerns regarding the use of personal
