A black teenager was shot dead by police officers as he allegedly tried to run away from the scene of an investigation, sparking more furious protests.
Black Lives Matter protesters descended on a police station in Washington DC on Wednesday evening after 18-year-old Deon Kay was killed.
Police chief Peter Newsham said 7th District officers were acting on information weapons were in a vehicle in the area, but as they approached two passengers fled.
He said two firearms were recovered and two people were arrested, adding officers believe Kay "had a gun at the time". The shooting happened at 4pm, with protesters then gathering later outside the 7th District precinct and footage showed some confronting officers.
