A man who was shot by police seven times, sparking protests in the US, has released a video statement from his hospital bed.
Jacob Blake, 29, was left paralysed from the waist down after a police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, shot him. His video statement comes after he appeared in court via a Zoom call on Friday to plead not guilty to charges of criminal trespass, sexual assault, and disorderly conduct.
Speaking from his hospital bed, he said: "Your life, and not only just your life, your legs, something you need to move around and forward in life, can be taken from you like this, man.
