Barshaw Park nature project helps folk bring birds to their gardens

Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Gardens across Renfrewshire will be welcoming some new feathered friends thanks to a community project.Friends of Barshaw Park have given away 200 birdhouses and nesting boxes to families across the district.The group had hoped to welcome people to the Walled Garden in the Paisley park for family workshops to learn about wildlife and construct bird boxes for their gardens.But with the pandemic scuppering those plans, the volunteers adapted the project to give away birdhouses and nesting boxes as well as craft kits for children to construct their own birdhouses.Irene McDonald, secretary of Friends of Barshaw Park, said the project had been a great.
