Young woman from Lanarkshire joins panel members to shape future of sport in Scotland

A sporty young woman from North Lanarkshire was amongst the members of the sportscotland Young People’s Sports Panel when it met for its first session.Earlier this month, the full collective met in person for the first time at the start of their two-year journey together.The panel hosted a development day at the University of Stirling and discussed ideas for shaping and influencing sport in Scotland and how they can work together to make the biggest impact with their time as a group.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Each of them comes from a different sporting background and had different experience in sport and motivation to be part of the Young People’s Sport Panel.Emma Alice Green, 20, from Muirhead is part of the 20-strong group of young leaders.

She has grown up participating in many different sports such as swimming, tennis and horse riding but now has a big passion for dance and netball.
