Woman posts dead bat through stranger's letterbox in bizarre mix-up
dailyrecord.co.ukA woman who received a wacky parcel through her front door was left horrified when she discovered it was a dead bat. Fay Hancox found the dead animal that had been posted through her letterbox inside an envelope.
The bizarre event happened last night about 6pm and has left her dumbfounded about who could have possibly posted such an item to her.
The unexpected arrival, however, was not the work of witchcraft, but has now been established as a simple mix-up from a concerned resident with good intentions.
Fay, 38, who works as a dental sales rep told Manchester Evening News : “I was sat in my lounge with my kids, and I heard my letterbox go. “I thought it was a charity bag, so I ignored it [until] I was cooking tea.“It was an envelope, and it had a freezer bag with something black inside.“I pierced the bag… and it stunk.“It was a bat!”Initially Fay, from Ramsbottom, was confused by the unwelcome present, and set about trying to ascertain who could have given her such a gift.She continued: “I rang my kids’ dad, who’s a police officer.
