Peaky Blinders viewers break down in tears at ‘most heart-breaking death in show’s history’

PEAKY Blinders was back on BBC One last night for another episode that brought viewers to tears. Fans of the Birmingham crime gang drama are now expecting Tommy Shelby (portrayed by Cillian Murphy) to go on a rampage after a devastating tragedy.

This is down to the death of a fan favourite, his young daughter Ruby (Orla McDonagh). The seven-year-old was diagnosed with consumption and undergoing extensive hospital treatment - with her father roaming around Birmingham in desperation to try and find a cure.

It emerged Tommy believed Ruby had been cursed due to some of her distressing hallucinations. This led him to John's wife Esme (Aimee-Ffion Edwards), as he hoped she could have an explanation - and, maybe, a solution - for him.
