Wishaw hospital welcomes three new student midwives during coronavirus crisis

University Hospital Wishaw has welcomed three new student midwives to its highly skilled team in the maternity unit.Melissa Scott, Paige Jones and Karen Stirling have all joined from the University of the West of Scotland.The recruits met up with their new colleagues as NHS Lanarkshire welcomed a number of final year nursing and medical students to help in the fight against COVID-19.The trio will be working clinically until the end of August at the Wishaw hospital while also completing theoretical components of their degree, and are expected to qualify as midwives in September.Also joining the emergency care unit at the hospital from the University of the West of Scotland is a group of third year student nurses.In addition, 27 foundation
